House Progress

Ever since our painter help left (Jonathan and Liz are seriously life savers!) things have been a little slow going.  Caleb gets a 3 day weekend this weekend so we're hoping to finish up all the painting and unpacking and get as settled in as we can.  No decorations are up and I have no idea when our family room furniture is supposed to arrive...so it will most likely be awhile before I get pictures up of the finished product.  Before we moved in everything was beige.  The family room is now grey with the fire place a darker grey.  The kitchen is bright green.  The master bedroom is a teal color and Casen's room is orange.  We still need to paint Arya's room coral and the 2 bathrooms (still can't for sure decide on those colors.)  For now, we're leaving the play/guest room, laundry room, and living room, as well as all the hallways beige.

As soon as I get at least one room completed i'll post some pics.

Here's a couple in progress rooms

Guess who won the battle of what color his room would be

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Caleb signed the papers last night so we are officially homeowners!

We move in Saturday and our new washer/dryer and fridge arrive and then Monday our new dining set comes...and i'm not really sure when our new family room set comes, but hopefully soon.  We can't wait!

Family Room Plans

For now, we'll be keeping our living room pretty plain.  We're just going to use what we have and keep the paint color as is so we can put our focus on the family room, where we plan on spending most of our time.

Here's the plan for the family room:

We plan on painting the walls a lighter grey and the fire place a darker grey.  I'd like a charcoal colored couch with dark blue accents and pops of bright red and white.  I'd like storage and tables to be a mix of metal and old wood.  Can anyone guess our inspiration? :)

I'm hoping it turns out to be clean, rustic, modern, and cozy all at once (not sure the vision makes sense to anyone but me)  But hopefully it turns out!

Kitchen/Dining Room Plan

My plan for the kitchen is to make it clean, crisp, and bright while tying together the old and the new.  The main components will be green and burlap with accents of black and yellow.  I want to paint the walls bright green and frame old burlap coffee sacks for art in the kitchen.  I can't wait to get started!

Caleb's Birthday

I don't have a whole lot to post about it, but we celebrated Caleb's birthday, mostly Saturday because yesterday he was gone from 7 to 6, but we did his dinner yesterday.

Saturday was the Patriots game so he opened his gifts, had wings, and I made a key lime pie dip.  And the Patriots won yay!

I found him an autographed picture from his favorite Patriot for his birthday :)
(ps I did get him more then just that.  That's just hanging out here in the living room so it was an easy picture.)

And then yesterday I did my best to recreate his favorite dinner at Red Lobster.  We had shrimp scampi, mashed potatoes, and of course the biscuits.

11 Months!

The last monthly update before the big birthday.

Last year at this time we were soaking up the California weather visiting Seaworld and Knotts (I wouldn't recommend it that pregnant.)  This year we're bundled in Virginia soaking up time with our sweet little lady.

It seems like this months she's made leaps and bounds into the toddler department.

- She's walking!  I already made a post on this, but even since then she has improved so much.  She can now walk across an entire room without falling and not so much of the wobbling with the arms flailing look.
- She's up to 6 teeth and I think possibly working on 2 more.  Right now It's 2 on the top and 4 on the bottom.
- She loves to point...at everything.  It has made it a little easier to figure out what's on her mind.
- She can climb onto furniture
- She's started big kid playing.  She loves taking care of her baby.  She loves playing with her little purse and picnic basket.  Her favorite thing is picking things up and putting them away (hopefully that sticks)
- She calls her blanket her "ba ba" and it's her favorite thing.
- She loves to dance.  She finally does more then just head shaking.  It's super cute and hopefully I can get a video.
- Her favorite show is Super Why.
- She's started drinking cow's milk.  (Go ahead and judge me since the experts say to wait until 12 months...believe it or not she's still living.)
- Sleeping...not so great.  She's become the queen of crawling off into a corner and falling asleep on her own.  We're just still having trouble at night.  We're still catching up from the mini vaca and teething.

I tried really hard to do some nice pictures.  I asked if she would sit pretty and say cheese and she looked at me smiled and started say no no no while shaking her head and then would crawl away.  Soo I got 2 sad attempts.  Good thing she's cute!

Christmas

There's a ton of pictures for Christmas.  I think the camera got rotated between people so we got pics of just about everything.

They got some presents on Christmas Even

Christmas morning opening their stocking from Grandma and Papa

Arya wanted a head start on the presents

Casen and Mac discussing his new cars.  They were so cute

Christmas morning at the Chevier household.  I love the craziness of mass opening :)

I wish I got a better picture of the two of them!

Blurry, but Auntie Mo was getting lots of kisses.

And then we had a super yummy prime rib dinner that I forgot to take a picture of.

Cookies!

Christmas Eve we hung out at my parents house.  Casen was so excited for Mac to be there too!

We did some cookie decorating

I think Casen did about 2 before he decided Fruit Ninja was way more fun

Arya noticed no one was looking and she reached down and grabbed a cookie of her own
