I know...

I'm wayyy behind the times.

But I just got an instragram account.  So i'll put a link up on the sidebar.  I take pictures daily of the kids so that will be the best place to see the latest on them :)

Any thoughts?

I can't get Arya to stop digging behind her ears.  I didn't real think much of it until after her nap today when I found this

It seems like she started doing it when the teething started happening, which I know is normal, but now she does it a ton in her sleep.
Any help?  Her nails are clipped so i'm not sure how she managed this one.

Casen said dada first, so it's only fair for me to hear this from Arya :) (i know, she has no idea what she's saying yet.) I hope her cute little raspy voice sticks.  I love it.

(sorry about it being sideways.  I never think about it until it's too late.)

I asked Casen what he was doing with his duck down his shirt...

He said he was carrying it around like mama does Baby Arya

Obviously not the best pictures, but I'm on the left, Arya is in the middle, and Caleb is on the right.  I think I finally have a child that looks like me!

For the fun of it I did the same with Casen.  Could Caleb and him look anymore alike!

Picture Dump

I never know what to do with all the pictures I take.  I don't think the facebook world needs a picture every day of my kids (although I come pretty close) so they usually just sit on my camera.  So here's a small picture dump from this past week. (note: Arya is a way more willing subject then Casen.)

she'll snuggle with you as long as you give her a back rub :)

she does indeed have a bottom lip!  we just never see it because she's too busy constantly chewing on it

she was not happy that the sweet potatoes were gone

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes!

Tuesday Caleb works 4-midnight so he came home technically on the morning of our anniversary.  He walked in the door with all this

I'm so thankful for him.  He knows just when I need the little stuff :)  I can't believe he stopped after a long night at work!

We had planned on going out for a quick dinner, but our children weren't in the best of spirits yesterday so we figured the dinner most likely wouldn't be that enjoyable anyways.  Soo...we did a little grocery shopping, (and after a trip to the park and for a walk,) had a really nice night in relaxing on the couch with our favorite snacks and shows and the kids had an early bedtime, yay....now if only they would've stayed asleep during the night so we got a good sleep too, o well.

Caleb's photography skills :p

Onto year number 5 :)

4 years

I was looking through all of our old pictures the other day and realized that for each year we've been married something major has happened in our life.  It seems like our 4 year timeline of marriage has squished in it what a normal couple has in a span of 10 years....but we're far from normal :p

Year 1:  We were married in August.  2 short months later, surprise!  A little Casen will be joining us.  2 months later, a few days before Christmas, Caleb leaves for Japan.  June rolls around and our first bundle of joy arrives while we're worlds apart and a couple weeks later Caleb returns safely from deployment #2.  (oh, and we've moved 4 times.)

Phew August rolls around and we've officially survived year # 1

Year 2:  Oh hey, we need to borrow your husband to go to Panama for a little bit.  And why not, a few months later, let's take him with us to Washington.  So we were pretty much apart from August to November.  Fast foward to February, move number 5, California!  No need to settle in really, we'll be taking your husband for training from May to August.

Hey we survived year # 2 too! (and enjoyed and loved it even more then the first.)

Year 3:  We know you just had your anniversary and got your husband back a couple weeks ago, but we need to borrow him, again, for 7 months in Afghanistan.  Hardest year to date!  But so thankful to say, on one of the best days of my life, he came home safe and sound.  About 2 months later, yay, we find out we're getting a second little blessing :)

We made it through year # 3 completely in love.  We can make it through anything.

Year 4:  Another baby arrives with Caleb finally by my side.  A month later we are officially out of the military life! (by the way so so so proud of my husband and all he has done.) Enter move number 6, a trip literally across the country.

And here we are wrapping up yet another year.

So in short:  3 deployments, 2 babies, 7 moves, and a handsome husband by my side through it all.  There's no one else I'd rather be with.  He makes me laugh, knows me better then anyone, and has made life so much sweeter.  It's a little crazy, but it's our crazy :)

I love you Caleb.  Here's to hoping we never have a "normal" year of marriage because I love being on this exciting ride with you.
They're the cutest

6 Months!

I can't believe Arya is already 6 months old....she was born half a year ago, yikes.  My last baby isn't staying a baby long enough.

At 6 months she is
-Sitting up perfectly.  She doesn't need help anymore.
-Scooting to get the things she wants. (It's crazy how different kids develop.  Casen was a crawling machine at this age and in a couple weeks started furniture surfing.  Arya is perfectly content sitting still and playing with her toys.  Makes her stay a baby a little while longer :))
-Her eyes have turned brown.
-Size 2 diapers
-Transitioning between 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes.
-She's kinda over her pacifier.  She uses it for a little bit while she goes to sleep at night, but spits it out shortly after and won't take it back in the night.
-Still sleeps in her crib.  No more breastfeeding pillow.  She rolls herself to the side and curls up with a -blanket and falls asleep on her own.  Currently she's been sleeping from 11 to 4:30 eats and goes back to sleep until around 7:30. (Unless she has a bad night teething.)
-Speaking of which, no teeth yet, but her gums are still swollen and she bites down so hard on things her whole body shakes...so they must be coming.
-She yells.....allll day long.  She started losing her voice about 4 days ago from yelling so much and it's still raspy because she never stops yelling enough for it to heal.  I wonder how long it'll be like that.
-She loves her oatmeal cereal.  She has that 3 times a day.  We're trying to get her to eat other baby food, but she's not a fan of anything else so far, (what kid doesn't like pears or bananas.)
-Her brother is still the best thing on the planet.  They are the cutest together.

She's such a little ham and we love her!

We started doing the chart system with Casen.  He's old enough now to make sure he's doing things around the house and learning about chores and responsibilities as well as keeping track of the things he needs to do every day regardless.  Some days we weren't the greatest at marking all the things he did, but we kept rough track.  He finally earned enough stickers to get his first prize.  He is pretty excited.
