Christmas

We had a great Christmas season.  Christmas day we even enjoyed wearing shorts and having all of our windows open, well at least I did.  80 degrees is my new favorite Christmas weather :)

Casen was off the week before Christmas so we made a quick trip up to Uncle Tyler's house.  We had so much fun.  I didn't get many pictures, but we enjoyed some cozy days in, seeing the Hershey Park light show, lots of yummy food, and the best company.  Tyler and Katie are awesome hosts!
Grilled cinnamon sugar pineapple
Game night and chestnuts!
Enjoying the lazer tag.  Casen and Caleb were the upstairs team.
Tyler cooked us an amazing prime rib dinner and Katie made all the sides.  We are already planning our next trip :)

We had Christmas Eve with Morgan and her extended family and Christmas day we spent at home since Caleb had to work that night.  I, again, didn't get many pictures because it was so much fun watching the kids open there gifts.  They have the best reactions.

They asked when we went to bed that night if we could have Christmas every day.

He is simply the best

I finally get to post about one of the best presents I've ever received!

I got an email today saying my rings were done, 3 days earlier then I thought they were going to be, which is awesome since we are going out of town on Sunday.

I've recently started looking for a ring that would tie my engagement ring and the ring Caleb got me a couple of years ago together.  Everywhere I went basically said i'd have to make a custom ring. There was none that would actually fit between the two so I was just going to get them resized to turn the new ring into a right hand ring and leave it at that.

We went to a few stores Christmas shopping and the kids were getting antsy so Caleb told me to take the kids out to grab some snacks and he would take care of getting them re-sized.  He called me back to the store awhile later and said he had a new plan.  Instead of getting things redone he was just going to get me brand new rings.  He and the jeweler had a new set all picked out.  And it was exactly what I wanted.  They were perfect and I just wanted to take them home, but alas they needed to be soldered and sized and they said it would take about 2 weeks.  So i've been waiting (not so patiently) checking my email every time it goes off hoping they were ready.

It's even more sparkly in person, but really hard to capture in a picture

I love them so much!  The main ring is the 3 middle rows of diamonds and then there's two separate bands on the outsides of black diamonds.  It's completely black and white diamonds and triple the amount of carats as my old one.  It is so so special to me.  When Caleb and I got engaged he proposed with his Marine ring and took me into to pick out my own engagement ring.  This one feels even more special because he picked it all on his own.  And the jeweler also threw in re-sizing my other ring for free so I now have that one as a right hand ring.

I am beyond blessed to be married to a man that spoils me as much as he does.  Carrying in my rings today with a Starbucks also in hand.  He really is the best! (and I don't just love him because he buys me things.)  We also celebrated 9 years together a couple of days ago.  I cannot believe it's been 9 years!  So thankful to be able to spend all these years with him by my side through it all.

December #1

The first half of our December has been extra busy.  Since the second half will be full of Christmas posts I figured I'd get this stuff documented now.

Caleb took Casen to an event at the race track called Discover the Dinosaurs.  Casen had so much fun!  One of Caleb's coworkers also has a son around Casen's age so they even got to go together.

While the boys were off doing boy things Arya and I had an official girls day and did some baking.  We made our first batch of Christmas cookies.

We also got to attend Casen's first school concert.  It was so adorable.  I took a few videos of some of his songs.  Stick with them until the end because some have motions that are hilarious.  Casen is on the bottom row in the maroon shirt on the left. (sorry about the quality and it shaking.  Arya was a wiggle-worm beside me.)

And hopefully very soon i'll be getting to post about my brand new present from the best husband ever :)

November

We had a great November!

We had some family game nights

The kiddos are loving getting to hang out with their cousin

Casen had his first little presentation at school we were invited to for Thanksgiving.  He went up on stage and sang a song.  It was soo cute.  They were pilgrims and Indians and after the show they got to have a Thanksgiving feast.

He also got his first report card, 100 in everything!

After work one day Caleb brought me home a lovely bouquet of flowers and he also brought one home to Arya.  She loved it so much.  She told everyone about her flower from her dad.  He's the best!

Morgan and Tim hosted Thanksgiving this year and we had a great meal.  We also had some little helpers :)
 My stuffing helpers
I forgot to take any pictures of the day, but Morgan thankfully at least snapped one of the kiddos at their little table.

(Tim's mom took the pic so she's supposed to be in the empty chair :)

After lots of eating and Black Friday shopping we also set up our Christmas tree.  We got a new tree last year after Christmas and we were pretty excited to set it up.

I love our home even more on the holidays

We also enjoyed our first time making some fudge as a family and i'm telling you if you like Snickers you should most definitely be making this fudge this year!  Our first time was a big success.

Bring on December :)

Veterans Day

I know I've this video before, but i'm so proud of my husband and all he's done.  This is a video from his deployment.  This time 4 years ago I was writing how thankful I was to get a picture from Caleb because I hadn't seen him in over two months.  It is crazy how far life has taken us, but i'm still so thankful he came home safe and for the insanely hard life he lived while he was there.

Thinking of all the families still serving and more then thankful for all those who have served.

October

We had a great October!

We've enjoyed spending some one on one time with our little lady as Casen is hard at work at school.  He is doing awesome.  Learning lots of sight words, doing math, lots of writing, memorizing tons of poems.  He's such a smart kid and I can't believe how much he's grown up since starting school.

We visited our first pumpkin patch with a group of Caleb's work friends, forgot to take pictures, but the kids had so much fun picking out there own pumpkin and going through a hay maze.

We got to enjoy some time with visitors.  We love love having company!  We dove into everything fall with pumpkins, pictures with Charlie Brown, game nights in, and, of course, football. And the kids couldn't have had a better time with their cousins.  Thanks for making the trip guys!

The kids also happily celebrated Halloween this year.  Arya wanted to, no surprise, be a minion.  And we had trouble finding Casen's first choice of a dinosaur so he decided on Bumblebee this time around.  His school had a trunk or treat so the kids were able to get a good amount of candy and we did another candy hunt in the backyard since Caleb unfortunately had to head to work.

My mom also made the trip down south so we got to spend some time with her.  The kids love her so much so i'm so thankful she made the drive.  And she even watched the kiddos so Caleb and I got to squeeze in our first date night since my birthday.  She, of course, left the kids with a treat to wake up to the morning she left.  They are already counting down the days til she comes back.
