Catch Up

Today has been a day of catching up. Back into routine.
We had a wonderful visit with Caleb's brother and sister in law and Casen definitely enjoyed having others to show off to.

Casen is a crawling machine. He's now has started getting into the standing position by grabbing onto things. It's so cool to watch him figure out how to do something and it only takes him a day or two to fully get the swing of it. I think we have a furniture surfer on the way :) It doesn't seem possible he'll be 7 months old in less than a week.

Now to finish catching up on laundry, pick up cheerios, and menu plan just in time for our next family to arrive. It's nice to have company to get ready for!

Motts for Tots

Just wanting to let all moms or women with plans to be moms about this juice we've found.  Maybe you've already heard of it, but if not, I suggest you check out Motts for Tots fruit juices.  Casen drinks very watered down juice and I'm really liking this one with much less sugar!

I've enjoyed having both my boys home these last few days while Caleb's on a 96.  We're spending our time simply relaxing, knowing soon things are going to get very hectic.
Wednesday Caleb's brother and sister-in-law are coming to stay for a few days and we're excited!  We visited them at Christmas and we had a great time.  Then next weekend Caleb's parents are coming to stay for a couple days.  We're soaking up our last visits before heading to Mission Viejo California in our new home (which we officially got) and our pretty excited about it.  We make the big move in less than a month!

It seems like Casen's been learning things so fast lately.  He's got crawling down.  He crawls everywheree and loves to follow you around.  He's eating cheerios and working on putting them in his mouth himself and after switching to the much cheaper Nuby hard sippy cup, he's got that down as well.  He's getting to be quite the little boy.  He looked at me and said mama last night and smiled, but I still can't tell if it was the official word or not.

Caleb's Birthday

Caleb's birthday was yesterday.  We actually got a babysitter for the night before and went out to dinner and he opened his presents long before he was supposed to.  So yesterday was pretty much just birthday pie.  I only got a couple pictures.

The birthday boy had to go to work

The festivities were too much for Casen to handle : )

Way back Wednesday

He's only 6 months and i'm already sad about how small he used to be...although i'm loving him being able to do more on his own.

On another note...I'm going to be an aunt again!  Congrats to my brother Pat and sister in law Karen.  So happy for you.

Thankful Tuesday

Yesterday I set Casen down to play and sat down at my computer and about five minutes later felt a little tug on my pant leg.  I looked down to see beautiful blues eyes staring up at me looking like, "please come play with me mom."  I'm so thankful for the little moments!
He was a little terror the rest of the day so looking back i'm especially thankful I got that moment yesterday : )

I want this artwork over our new bed...after we finally get a bedroom set in our new apartment!  Check out these really cool creations  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ecceprints?ref=top_trail.

Big Changes

It about a month Caleb, Casen, and I will be packing up and moving to California.  I've been really bummed about moving because I really really love Virginia and where we're living now, but we went apartment looking last night and found one that we think we'll be living in if everything goes according to plan and I must say...i'm getting a little more excited to live here for a couple of years.

They're beautiful apartments!

Workout

I highly recommend this workout for anyone looking to get in shape in the new year that doesn't have time to go to the gym or much time at all during the day.  It's an easy to understand workout that still kicks your butt.  It's broken up into 6 circuits and I get a workout done while Casen is napping.  The frontside workout was only eight dollars at WalMart.  Definitely worth checking out!

As i'm trying to get last nights dishes done and the laundry caught up from our trip days ago with a little boy who would spot something he can't put in his mouth a mile away, my mom sent me this quote and I love it.

What’s more important to a sense of "home" is not perfectly arranged designer pillows, but the comforting arms of a mother or wife who is available and content when her family needs it.

Routine

All seems back to normal at our house : ) This is how I found the boys this morning.
We had a really nice time visiting family, but it is nice to be back home where our baby boy is comfortable and sleeps well. We spent the first part of our vacation with Caleb's family and the rest with my parents. All my siblings were able to make it home, so we had a "Christmas morning" like when we were younger.
Today were back to set bath and bedtimes and a happier momma : ) Our family functions so much better with routine!
Here's a few more pictures from our stay.
