I don't do well with separation from Caleb. It's kind of crazy how unwell I handle it considering he's been deployed for a longer period of time then we've been together since we've been married. I was going through my box of things from Caleb last night (yes I keep every single thing he gives me, all letters, cards that come on flowers, candy that i'm pretty sure he intended for me to eat, dried flowers, and even receipts of fun dates we had) And I stumbled across this cutie

Caleb gave me this little bear at the very beginning...which is now almost five year ago! I'm so thankful I discovered the little guy. He now sleeps on Caleb's pillow and this morning when I woke up he somehow ended up right next to me under the covers. He must be a crazy sleeper like Caleb is :)
I love finding little things like this that put a little brightness in our days of separation.

Does anyone else have cute little things from the beginnings of dating? Or fun little rituals while loved ones are away?

Military Spouse Friday Fill-in

1. When you vacation what type of vacation do you like to take (beach, historic, adventurous, food oriented, etc.)?

I love going to the beach, but since we live by the beach it doesn't really seem like a vacation to me. I love doing mini adventures, just the three of us. Spur of the moment trips to the local coffee shops, zoo trips, hiking...those are vacations to me :)

2. What is your best memory associated with a song (you know we all have tons!)?

Umm probably Sum 41: With You. It was our wedding song.

3. If you had six months with no obligations or financial constraints, what would you do with your time?

I would want to rent a little cute cottage on the beach and stay in complete relaxation with my boys building sand castles without having to worry about Caleb's work.

4. What is one thing about you that people do NOT typically notice at first that you wish they would?

Hmm, no idea. Maybe that we're not familiar with the area so we'd love good tips on where to eat, go, etc. :)

5. It’s a summer of sequels, and if you had to live in one of each of the following “worlds” (there are three total) which would you choose and why?

X-Men: Be a Mutant, what would your power be? I'm a fan of reading minds.

–Harry Potter: Be a Witch or Muggle? I just watched them all with Caleb and actually really enjoyed them. I'd say muggle.

–Twilight: Be a Vampire or Werewolf?

Our wall hanging from this shop came yesterday. I love it! (For some reason the pictures make it look too small and weird, but it looks much nicer in person.) It ties our room together...and whenever we get around to getting the right side tables our room will be complete.

I love Ebay!

I've never had a problem finding exactly what I need at a super reasonable price on Ebay, anything from my sister's maid of honor dress to our patio rug.
Now that we have a little monster running around who refuses to keep shoes on, we were in a dilemma. Stride Rite shoes are supposed to be the best option for babies who don't like shoes, but they run anywhere from 25 to 50 dollars and they way his feet are growing there's no way we can pay that for all the shoes he's going to need.
