Officially a second grader!

August

I failed miserably at August pictures.

We've just been enjoying hanging out as a family gearing up for the start of Jo's school year.

Casen got the teacher he wanted this year, Mr. Weldon.  He got to go into his classroom and set up all his stuff.  He starts his first day of second grade tomorrow, September 5th.  

Both the kids also got their yearly checkups this month.  Poor Jo is still our little runt.  He was 10th percentile for weight and 14th percentile for height.  The Dr. said he officially could have all the ice cream he wanted.  Arya was 30 percentile for weight and 50th for height.  The pediatrician said both kids were perfect :)

Our friends ended up giving us tickets to Kings Dominion, which is a theme park really close to us.  We went there as the last big trip before Jo starts school.  The kids had blast.

8 Years

This year instead of doing our normal gifts we decided to add a little something to our living room.  We've had so much fun staying up late playing darts together.  

And I got beautiful flowers.  Can't wait to see what year 9 brings!!!

July

Our favorite month to date.

Caleb was off on the 4th of July for the first time in a long time.  We started out the day at the movies watching Despicable Me 3 and then we were able to take the kids to see some fireworks.  It was Aryas first time ever seeing them and I think Casen was 1 the last time he did.

And now for the picture overload.  July was our official family vacation.  We headed to New York for about 2 weeks.  We got to start out the trip meeting up with Jonathan and the kiddos.  Our kids loved hanging out with their cousins.  They're finally all old enough to play together.

Then we headed to my parents house.  All the siblings were able to make the trip to be together for my dads 50th birthday.  We had the best time there.  The kids were spoiled and Caleb and I even got to sneak away for a couple nights.

The first day I didn't have my phone until the very end of the night, but my kids had a blast playing with Mac and Cam

We got to watch the ships come in and enjoy New York pizza...pizza in Virginia doesn't compare.

We returned to the Township 7 Brewery.

And we had a great fishing day.  They caught tons of fish and at the end of the day got to bring some back to cook over the fire.

And it didn't turn out at all....but an ice cream trip has to be documented :)

And we finished out the week celebrating Benny's birthday

There's a ton of things I missed getting pictures of, but we are already planning our trip for next year!
