fun at the park

I finally brought my camera to the park.  The kids were such hams.  I have wayy more pictures, but I tried to cut them down so it wouldn't be such a long post of pictures.

Pocahontas State Park

At Caleb's new job he gets Wednesday and Thursdays off instead of the weekends.  It works out well doing things as a family not on weekends when everywhere is so busy.  We finally had a day not in the 90s so we decided to head to the state park.  We were kind of bummed when we got there because most stuff was closed for the season...not sure why the water park is closed when its still this hot out, but we still found some pretty fun stuff.

Then we went to go check out the nature center, which was closed, but we did find an amphitheater.  Apparently they do a summer concert series that we missed in July and August...it didn't look like much, but apparently Scotty McCreery, Trace Adkins, and O.A.R. were there a couple weeks ago.

Since it was completely empty and no one there, they did some exploring :)

And then Casen decided "it was getting really really hot which was making him really really thirsty."

County Fair

Caleb heard about a county fair on his way to work a few days ago so we checked into it.  It's a small little fair that's only been running 4 years, but Wednesday was free admission so we decided to give it a shot :)  It was definitely small town country, but a little refreshing when you live in the city.  I forgot the camera so I just got a few phone pics, but Casen had a good time.  He didn't want to do any rides so we just checked out the tons of tractors, monster truck, petting zoo, a few exhibits and shows, and of course, his favorite "wave guy."

My phone was not cooperating for this one.  There's a camel in the background.  They were doing camel rides instead of pony rides, (only fitting since it was hump dayyy for anyone who knows Casen's obsession with Geico.)
