Jo turns 6

We had a crazy busy awesome full week here at the Geiger residence.  All my family was able to make it down.  So lots of pictures to come.  Casen turned 6 this past week so he got to have two days of celebrating, his actual day and the day of his party :)

The morning of his birthday Caleb took him to Sugar Shack to pick out his breakfast.  He came back with a very loaded donut.

Then he got to open presents and we went out to dinner and Papa and Grandma took him on the train ride at the big outdoor mall.

Saturday the entire family was here so that ended up being the best time for a party.  He requested a bug party this year.  I thought that theme was going to be a cinch, however, I was wrong.  We basically went to any store that you could dream of with no luck of finding bug related things.  (almost) Auntie Katie came to the rescue though and helped out with some homemade stuff and Grandma and Papa even brought some lollipops with real bugs inside.  He loved it!

The kids enjoyed their dirt and bug cupcakes and got to spend the rest of the day together.  He said it was the best day ever and he can't wait to do it again next year.

June

The end of June will consist of my entire family being here so I imagine that will be a post of it's own.  I cannot wait!  So here's our June updates so far

Bompa and Monki came for a visit at the beginning of June.  They were able to get time enough off to come down and see Caleb get one of his awards.  I didn't get many pictures, but we all had so much fun.

We went to the Botanical Gardens.  I wish I would've taken more pictures of that, but the kids loved it, especially the butterfly garden.

Monki also dropped by school to have lunch with Casen.

And Caleb was selected by the VFW and American Legion for the Veteran Police Officer of the year! They're completely separate awards so it's even more special that he was selected for both.  He makes it so easy to be proud.  He really is so great at his job and goes above and beyond what he's expected to do.  We love you!

Morgan let me come over and take some newborn pics of baby Anson.  He was a trooper.

And then we got to celebrate Father's Day.  Caleb had to work the night before and the night of, so we just gave him a few gifts in the morning and let him sleep.  We decided to have a joint day out Monday night so he could enjoy it more.

And Monday I got to enjoy my birthday, even though I really wasn't looking forward to turning 26.  Both the kids came down with something and were pretty sick.  So the day consisted mostly of rest for everyone, which is okay with me, especially after being up with sick kids all night and then we got to go out to an early steakhouse dinner and head home for some yummy cake.  Caleb, as usual, spoiled me with lots of gifts.  And I love them all!

Nobody liked my request for a german chocolate cake, so they opted for boring white cake and Caleb got me a personal sized cake to enjoy without sharing :)

And yesterday 4 hooligan cousins got together for a play date.  The littlest wasn't up for much playing, but these 3 crazies sure did.

So that's June for now!

Today was supposed to be my happy post of Casens last day of kindergarten.

Unfortunately a tornado decided to swing by.

Our picnic table and fire pit are under there somewhere.

                 Our fence didn't fair well

So....school for casen has been cancelled due to most roads being blocked off with fallen trees and I will not be getting his cute first day to last day comparison shot or getting to see his closing ceremony :(

Regardless, he has rocked this school year and we are so proud of him.
He had his end of the year assesment recently.  It's graded on a point system, they're able to get up to a certain number of points per category and then it's added all together for your final assesment.  The max score you are able to get is a 102.  The beginning of the year jo tested at a 83 with the kindergarten average being 29.  The end of the year he tested at a 101 with the grade average being 83.  Thats only one point away from the max!  Needless to say, he is ready to tackle first grade :)

I'm so thankful he loves school.  He's grown up so much this year!

Welcome to the world Anson John! He decided to make an early appearance just like his brother.

(And his mommy let me do one of the things I love doing most....pictures!)

Well, I thought after this memorial day weekend I'd have a ton of pictures to blog, but we had way too much fun for that.

Between bbq, water balloons, all day adventures, card nights, and movies I rarely had my phone out.  I managed to get a couple of our hike to fossil beach and that's about it.  We can't wait for our next time with uncle ty and aunt katie.

May

I think the very end of May is going to have some posts of its own,  so here's a random picture update of our month so far.

We've enjoyed some brownie sundae and movie nights
She is quite attached to her dad these days.
Caleb was officially honorably discharged from the Marines.

Casen's continuing to do awesome in school.  He's been all blue and purples on the color chart for about a month now.  They have less then a month to go.  His last day is June 17!  And I absolutely love all the art work he comes home with.

Arya went to the salon and got her first real haircut.  They had to cut a ton of dead hair off so it's quite a bit shorter, but soo much easier to deal with!

I don't know if it has been everywhere else, but here it seems like it's rained every day for a month now.  So we've spent some time at the bookstore.  The kids could spend all day in there.

The kids had a blast with water balloons.  The infomercials are correct these water balloons are awesome!

We have a little Vanna in training.

And Caleb's latest addition :)
