Seriously, this kid. I'm not sure if I should be more worried that she loves them this young or how well she walks around the house in them.

This week has been filled with a ton more yard work. Morgan has come over a few days to help me get it all picked up. In this corner sat a bush that we like to call the devil plant.
I'm pretty sure it was a type of holly plant. It looked like this
the spikes on the end dug into your skin and you had to pull them out. It attracted massive amounts of bees and other lovely bugs and it seemed impossible to get it out since it was well armored. Anyways, we finally got it all dug out and now i'm not sure what to do with the corner. We're left with sandy dry soil. It's a really well shaded area and there's obviously no grass. What do I do from this point? Lay soil and hope to plant grass on top next year? Lay mulch down and turn it into some sort of flower bed? People with some lawn/plant experience please chime in.

I think I may have found possibly the coolest tshirt design ever. Perfect for a husband's graduation party, right? :)

I posted it on facebook, but i'm going to put it on here too as a reminder. I'm making a family picture table for the kids to be able to look at since we don't live near anyone. This is the last update I have from everyone. Please send me some new ones :) I wouldn't even mind if you emailed it to me and i'll get it printed.

Perfectly fitting for number five. In less than a month Caleb and I will be celebrating 5 years of being married. Holy smokes where did the time go? But I also can't really remember a time when we weren't together, the best of both worlds :) Every year we go to The Melting Pot for our anniversary. We both love it and it's a fun romantic thing to do. Does anyone have some other ideas of what we could do on top of that? 5 years is one of the milestone years and I'm horrible with these sorts of things.

Happy Weekending
Friday my brother and sister in law were able to make it down for the weekend to celebrate Casen's birthday with us. Since he doesn't go to school yet and we're newly planted here in the Henrico area, Casen doesn't know many kids, so Mac was at the top of his list when you asked who he wanted at his birthday party. He had a fun time and wants to know when his next birthday is.
We also went to a 4th of July festival which I somehow ended up getting no pictures of, but Casen went on his first horse ride, played games, and got to check out some big military vehicles.

5 on Friday
I'm doing my five one friday on a thursday because tomorrow starts our holiday weekend. Caleb is off and my brother and sister in law are traveling down to spend the 4th and Casen's birthday party with us on Saturday.
Casen's birthday a present finally arrived! Caleb and I weren't prepared for how long a 73 lb box would take to ship. It still wasn't even supposed to come until the 7th, but Caleb pulled some strings and one of the delivery company employees ended up dropping it off in his personal truck on his way home from work yesterday. I'm not sure who is more excited, Caleb or Casen.
We've done some major landscaping changes this past week. Hopefully I will take pictures and get a post up about it soon. We have our fence (which we are absolutely loving.) We purchased a firepit. And we've been cleaning up flower beds and raking up pine needles. We are thankful for the extra help we had!

Speaking of fire pit, that means that we got to enjoy our first smores of the year. If you like coconut I highly suggest you use the toasted coconut marshmallows on your smore. It may just make the best smore ever. I'm really looking forward to lots of family nights around the fire this year.

Arya went to her 15 month check up this past week. She's a little behind on her appointments from the move and job change and such so she goes back in august for her 18 month appointment. She officially hates the doctors. She cried from the minute the nurse walked in to take her measurements until I stopped at the nurses station to schedule her next appointment. She knows the uniforms of the people she doesn't like :) She is 31 inches long (43rd percentile) and weighed 21 lbs (25th percentile.)

Speaking of the little lady. We painted her toes for the first time yesterday. Sometimes she's my little girly girl. Ever since we got her these new shoes we have a hard time getting them off her. She's even napped with them on. She loves showing them off and now gets to show off her "pretty pretty toe toes" along with them.

Visitors
Bompa and Monki came for a visit this past weekend. I didn't get many pictures, but we did have a lot of fun. I'm getting better at enjoying time instead of lugging a camera around trying to get pictures of it all. We had lots of yummy dinners, and extra yummy desserts, lots of fun playing games, and the kids had a blast. They both cried as Bompa and "Bunkies" pulled out of the driveway. We're already looking forward to August.

4
We've made some major changes to our backyard and we had a great time with a visit from Monki and Bompa, but first I must address the fact that we now have a 4 year old. How does this happen so quickly?
4 years ago I was in the hospital with my mom and mother in law texting all the info to Caleb who was deployed in Japan. He's turned into quite the little man. He makes us laugh. He's such a good big brother. And he's pretty darn smart too :)
Monki and Bompa got to come spend his birthday with him. His birthday fell on a Monday this year so Caleb and I decided we move it up a day and let him think his birthday was Sunday so that Caleb would be off the whole day to celebrate with him too.
Caleb woke up early with him and brought him to the store to pick out a birthday breakfast (he chose a gummy worm donut of course.) Then he got to open his present from grandparents and some little ones from us. We ordered him a really really big present that hasn't quite arrived yet. We went to church and then let him pick where he wanted to go for lunch. He picked "the chili pepper place" also known as Chili's. We then spent some time at the park and decided to spend the rest of the evening at home. Caleb grilled and we got to enjoy our new fire pit (more on that in some later landscaping posts,) and catch lots of fireflies. I think he really enjoyed his day.
We're throwing a Spiderman birthday party for him this coming Saturday.
Excuse the order of the pictures. I cannot get them to cooperate.
